Class descriptions

  • A woman practicing yoga outdoors on a striped mat near a sandy beach with grassy dunes, exercising a side plank pose with one arm extended upward on a cloudy day.

    Flow

Vinyasa Flow or just ‘Flow’ is a dynamic style of yoga linking breath with movement.

Classes involve breath awareness (Pranayama), as well as Yoga Philosophy, anatomy awareness, meditation and relaxation. Flowing sequences warm and open the body while building strength.

Modifications are provided throughout and you are encouraged to be guided by sensation of how your movement feels rather than how it looks.

  • A woman practicing yoga or stretching in a forest, lying on a blanket with her legs against a tree trunk.

    Yin

Yin Yoga incorporates mostly floor based, longer held shapes to target the fascia - the connective tissue such as tendons, ligaments and fascia itself.

Longer holds with a lower force can help provide ‘healthy stress’ to joints and tissues and can support recovery from injury. Being still is an opportunity to practice mindful awareness.

An ideal practice to compliment more dynamic practices.

  • A woman with blonde hair relaxing outdoors on a green blanket with spiritual symbols, wearing a blue prayer shawl over her eyes and a white sweater, surrounded by natural forest setting.

    Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a necessary 'non-doing' practice of awareness and rest.

Translated as 'Yogic sleep', you are guided to the liminal space between sleep and wakefulness, while remaining aware. It can be a space for introspection, for creative, insightful or meditative thought.

No previous experience is needed as Yoga Nidra is a naturally arising state of human consciousness.
